I am Keanen Tregaskis, an aspiring journalist with ambitions to translate the skills I learn into a job that incorporates writing and reporting, possibly as a sports writer or reporter. I have made my way to BCIT through studying journalism in some intro courses at KPU. At KPU, I found a passion for news writing and reporting. Alongside taking journalism courses, I advanced my writing through both creative writing classes and English classes. I then entered the Broadcasting and Online Journalism program at BCIT with an understanding of the journalism industry and the creative skills to tell captivating stories, no matter the situation.

        Throughout my life, there have been two passions of mine that have propelled me to pursue journalism. My love for sports and creative writing. They have stooped over every other hobby that I have ever had. My inspirations are MLB writers and reporters, Jon Heyman, Ken Rosenthal and Mark Bowman. They write and report with such emphatic delivery and bold analysis that inspires me to strive forward down this path and one day have the same position they do. I also plan to have a podcast covering unique stories in the MLB and other sports. Before then, there are many things I will learn in school, with a grad date set for 2025.
